I decided to grab a twitter account if for no other reason other than having dibs on my one name in the Twitter URL. I started following a few people I respect in the industry, and before I knew it Twitter started making sense.

When I first started using the plugin I noticed that most scrapers disable any links in the content they steal when they steal it. I was getting track-backs from other blogs that had my custom RSS Footer text at the beginning, but no link.

But what is more important? A properly constructed and SEO’d page, or a horde of backlinks “voting” for your website?

The answer is no, they are not absolutely critical. However keywords in your URL can give you a huge and immediate boost into the search results for your desired search term.

The truth is that while all of the gurus that instructed me had AWESOME techniques, those techniques are simply tools. Like any tool, these tactics are suited for various environments and tasks. Mastering multiple tools and then selecting the right tool at the right time is what makes all the difference.

New RSS Feed Cross-Promotion syndication tool is an alternative to RSS-Include that allows you to display the contents of an RSS feed on your webpage, or cross market your blog and forum posts to your readers.

The new thorschrock.com interface is ROUGH. I had to get something up on the root of that URL so I didn’t lose the PR5 (Page Rank 5) ranking with Google in the next big index update. Google ran a small correction to its PR indexes last week and ticked a lot of people off by dropping the false PRs that sites were accidentally given.

Mine was not effected, but nevertheless, it was a reminder that any day now Google will be updating the PR index again. I will tweak the content and layout in the upcoming days.
