I am going to be on the KMTV Channel 3 in Omaha during Monday’s Morning Blend program to talk about some of the best Black Friday tech shopping tips and to highlight some of the amazing things Schrock has on special next weekend.
I have been watching all of the Black Friday leaked ads to find out where the best deals are, what time you need to be there and how many of them will be available.
If you are not the get-up-early type, we are also going to tell you about some amazing deals that Schrock Innovations will have all weekend long – starting Black Friday through November 28th.
Unlike the box stores, we don’t get a kick out of watching our customers freeze in the cold for hours just to have a 1 in 100 shot at a sale item that is over-hyped and under-stocked.
Schrock’s Lincoln and Omaha Service Centers will both be opening at our normal business hours (10am to 8pm Friday and Saturday and Sunday noon-5pm).
You can expect some amazing deals including:
- Compaq notebooks for only $399.99 (3 available per Service Center)
- Ultimate Upgrade Desktop Computers for only $399 (10 available per Service Center)
- Norton 360 Installed and Warrantied for only $79.99 (25 per Service Center)
- $10 in FREE Gift Cards for Every $50 You Buy
- PC Preventative Maintenance Checkups for Only $29.99 (all weekend long)
- $100 Instant Rebate off the 2010 Holiday Special Desktop PC
- Register to win a Free 3-night Branson Condo Stay
All of the Black Friday Weekend Event details will be posted online on the Schrock Innovations website. If you want to see the hardware firsthand (and you are in Omaha), be sure to tune into KMTV Channel 3 Monday morning at 9!

Yesterday Channel 8 News stopped by Schrock Innovations‘ Lincoln Service Center to talk about the Amber Alert that was issued yesterday for a 15 year old girl.
It seems she was playing Second Life and met a 30-year old man from New York. He was nice enough to drive from New York to Nebraska to have “coffee” with her.
Luckily, the two were found in Arkansas. It seems they had made plans to run away together.
Here are some tips for parents who are concerned about their kids on the Internet:

This morning I was a guest on the Channel 10/11 News morning show. We did two, three minute segments. You can watch the complete interview about the iPad below.
We hit on some of the high points of the device, talked about its limitations, and whether or not it is a “must have” for students in school right now.

Over the past three months I have opened a new Lincoln Service Center, hired and trained 5 new technicians, installed a new in-shop manager, hired a communication coordinator, and launched two of the most successful sales in Schrock Innovations’ history.
With that said, I could not have done any of these things without the daily support, assistance, and love of my wife Kim. Getting all of this done came at the expense of many days and nights at home with my family. It’s time for a little catch up time, and what could be better than going to Disney World in Orlando Florida!
This is an all-play-no-work vacation. We are going to stay in the park at the Wilderness Ridge resort, so we won’t be interrupted by any conferences 😉
Seems that my buddy Ken McArthur is still trying to track me down. He actually had the guts to schedule HIS conference AT Disney World WHEN I would be there and then offered me free tickets.
LOL… Ken my wife says NO WORK!

The Midlands Business Journal ran a special technology section on the 13th and I was interviewed for the article on green technology.
It was an opportune time for them to interview me on the subject because I was in the midst of replacing a ton of Schrock Innovations’ outdated tech equipment with modern, more energy efficient gear.

I was taking a lazy Sunday looking over my Google Analytics data from 2008 to see what kind of posts brought the most organic search traffic.
I dropped the calendar back to January ’08 and did a traffic source search. I was surprised to see what turned up. Here is a list of the top 6 most frequently visited pages on this blog through organic search in 2008:

In fact, that is where you would normally find me – eating at the grill. This time however, Monica Durazo and my wife Kim were encouraging me to try the sushi. I decided I would give it a shot.

The new thorschrock.com interface is ROUGH. I had to get something up on the root of that URL so I didn’t lose the PR5 (Page Rank 5) ranking with Google in the next big index update. Google ran a small correction to its PR indexes last week and ticked a lot of people off by dropping the false PRs that sites were accidentally given.
Mine was not effected, but nevertheless, it was a reminder that any day now Google will be updating the PR index again. I will tweak the content and layout in the upcoming days.
