Yesterday Channel 8 News stopped by Schrock Innovations‘ Lincoln Service Center to talk about the Amber Alert that was issued yesterday for a 15 year old girl.
It seems she was playing Second Life and met a 30-year old man from New York. He was nice enough to drive from New York to Nebraska to have “coffee” with her.
Luckily, the two were found in Arkansas. It seems they had made plans to run away together.
Here are some tips for parents who are concerned about their kids on the Internet:

Brad Donner has been an entry level web design employee at Schrock Innovations for a few months now, but many of our customers don’t know that he is an amateur photographer as well.
Last year Brad asked all of his friends and family to vote for his company, Donner Digital Photography, in the KETV viewer survey. And he won!
I work every day with Brad and I know he works hard every day to improve his photography skills.
I happen to have some inside information about KFOR’s Best of Lincoln survey (due out in October) and its only fair that I do my best to help an employee win a consumer award when my employees give their all so Schrock can win one as well.

Fox News posted an article yesterday about Facebook changing its terms of service.
Facebook always claimed the rights to any content you place on the Facebook website, including the right to use the content to promote third party products or services. The change they tried to slip in under the radar states that even if you terminate your Facebook account they can still use the content you uploaded in the past.

12seconds was a great idea with future promise it just isn’t doing it for me and I don’t think its going to catch on. For every Twitter there are a lot of failures, and 12seconds is unfortunately one of the failures of 2008.

Rank your YouTube videos in top search positions by using strategies like labeling your videos with a bottom third, carefully wording your video titles, and tweaking your descriptions a bit. YouTube and other video sharing sites can become traffic magnets that send targeted leads to your website who WANT to convert into clicks and/or sales.

I received a call today from a Deputy Attorney General with the California Attorney General’s office regarding MoviePass and their MediaPipe software.
Last week I tracked down the individuals who own the corporations responsible for MoviePass, MovieLand and MediaPipe and published it on the Schrock Innovations website.
