Something to be Thankful For

Around Thanksgiving many people think about the things they are thankful for, but last Wednesday I had a bad accident and I am definitely thankful that noone was hurt.

I was involved in a three car accident near 40th and South after I was done in the field on Wednesday. Thankfully no one was hurt, but my truck is completely totaled. You can click on the small picture above to see a larger image of the front end damage. The rear of the truck was also punched in.

My truck was a 1993 Ford F250, so the damage to either end of the truck was enough to total out the vehicle as far as insurance is concerned. It was truly a blessing that every one walked away from this one. My truck was a 3/4 ton pickup with a body lift. The vehicle in front of me was a Nissan Pathfinder and it was completely obliterated. Their rear and side windows were ejected off their vehicle and their rear door was smashed in.

The car that rear ended me was a Dodge Stratus. It managed to get underneath my rear bumper, shearing it off as well as a good chunk of the bed of my truck.

Every year I make an effort to think about the blessings in my life that I am thankful for. This year I was very thankful that my old truck performed perfectly and kept me safe in the accident. I will miss that old truck, but I have my eye on a 1991 Ford F150 4×4. I don’t do car loans, so whatever I buy I will buy for cash.
