If the Psystar would last as long as a Mac, I definitely would consider it! If you’re going to spend 2000 on a computer, might as well make sure it will last!

’d prefer the Apple name and support. In the long run, saving the money for a “clone” system wouldn’t be as appealing as knowing that my computer is made by a company that will most definitely be around in 3 years.

My mom was looking to buy a computer recently and I bought her a second hand Psystar clone, as her usage is very frugal, usually just e-mails and chats at the most, as well as reading up on recipes and news. It has been running pretty good so far. Luckily, I also found a technician who knows all about it and can help if it develops a snag.

I would suggest that an original MAC cannot be replace by any other gadget.
