Hey bro, I hear ya? Using social networks is personal thing. Like any other resource ya gotta figure out how to best use it for you. Like the cat James who commented before me. He uses it for exposure. I think it breaks down into 4 categories. One, to connect with old friends, two, to make new e-friends, three to promote yourself or your stuff, and four to find cool content like new blogs. Facebook, is great for friends, Myspace is ok for the friends and is good for promotion of Music and Comedy, and Youtube is good for finding cool video content and cre8Buzz . . . our goal is to be good in all 4. I think it is all still evolving and the sites offering the most value beyond "friends" will win in the end. Good question brother. Next time ya on the buzz come say hi! Peace!

I use the MySpace blog tool to create a snippet of longer blog posts on my real blog. The reason for this is because myspace blogs carry a lot of weight with search engines and ranking tools like Technorati and Alexa. It's a great way to have some instant credibility for your site in terms of how search engines see you.

So I use social networking sites to cross-promote my own sites.
