Sorry it is so late folks, but if you missed last Saturday’s Compute This Radio show on KFOR1240, you missed a great show. I have posted the archive on the Compute This page the Schrock website.
One caller raised the ghost of the Schrock Innovations computer ambulance, we revealed a top secret Vista hidden command for audiophiles, and Chris went nuts with the Bon Jovi.
We will be back on the air today at 10:00 CST with this week’s show. We will be giving away a free surge protector as well as a free thorschrock.com padfolio. These things are sweet! Leather bound, complete with a pad and a Schrock pen.
All you have to do is call the show at 402-489-1240 and ask a question to win! If you are outside of Lincoln or Omaha, we will ship the price to you!

Thank you very much for the information you gave on your show about how to get the waveout option on Vista. I will try this over the weekend to see if I can get the waveout on the HP notebook.
No problem Petro! Glad I could help!
I know you’re a Norton Internet Security fan and I understand your reasons. I too have been a fan but Norton IS 2007 is an obvious resouce hog and although I have it loaded on a machine that has 512MB of memory, it really slowed it down and I’ve grown to dislike the product as a result.
I run freebie firewall and AV on my #2 box. It runs well and without incident.
I heard about Windows Live OneCare Security Suite from a friend recently that uses it and hadn’t ever heard of it. Perhaps you’ve already offered your assessment of it on the air. If so, I missed it.
Would you care to share your thoughts on Live OneCare?
Did you hear the problems Norton 360 had in China? The updates broke all computers there. Didn’t they do some testing before releasing the updates. If your looking for good stand alone AV software you may want to try AVG 7.5 or NOD32. They can be found at:

One of the magazines rated MS Windows live one care dead last in performance.
